It took me months to complete this game, it was my personal (worst) record probably!

But this doesn’t mean the game itself is bad, it’s just quite long; at least, the first route takes forever, because of the never ending common route.

In this game, you must travel to different words: starting from the village, you reach the Red World, the Yellow, the Green and finally the White, where the final battle starts.

There are many sub characters, with different attitudes: some are willing to help, others will be dangerous; but you need to obtain the “key” from them, or you won’t be able to face the Snow Queen and try to defeat her, to remove the curse.

All the CGs in this game look so good, I stared at them amazed every time! I really wished this game was ported to vita, it deserves a better graphic resolution.

I’ve played Kai first, the blond haired childhood friend: he was so nice and sweet, I immediately fell in love! He’s ready to sacrifice everything for Gerda and he’s loyal to his friends too.

The curse can change his personality, making him suddenly cold and quite rude; but I really appreciated this side too, because somehow the heroine won over it and obtained his help, to gain back the real Kai and defeat the Snow Queen.

Orva was a yandere, and you could easily tell just by talking to him a bit in the common route; since he had a weak and fragile body due to a sickness, he couldn’t get up from bed and spent all day in his bedroom, envying others basically.

I wasn’t expecting him to bee that creepy tho… I mean, usually yandere act like that to protect the heroine or just because they’re possessive towards her, not just to protect themselves!

There was a moment when I was really scared, he lost completely my trust and he couldn’t gain it back; I’m sorry, I’d rather being alone instead.

I understand his suffering, but he was still too selfish, since all his friends got cursed because they were trying to help him.

Obviously he changed his mind in the end, but it was too late for me to fully appreciate this character.

Aje’s route was really the best, his curse made every situation funny and awkward!

I really loved his tsundere personality, and also his route had the most emotions.

He had some amazing CGs, I wish I could share them here or on twitter, but……….. this route is too spoilerish, I can’t.

Anyway, he’s really worth the game itself, he should probably be the main character!

I didn’t dislike Kai, but Aje was really better than anyone else, he owned the game for me.

Craes was more interesting than I expected, his route was actually nice to play.

There were funny moments, cute moments, but also shocking secrets revealed, and I would have never predicted that! Honestly, while I was playing other routes, I’ve realized that something was weird with him… his curse could actually become a gift, but somehow he couldn’t take advantage of it, and that was suspicious enough.

So, when the demon told me that Craes was hiding something, I had no doubts.

I just wish his past was explained better, but in the end, as usual, the writer seemed to give up and decided to end the route in the fastest way possible.

The final dialogue with the Queen was like “aren’t you lonely here? Let’s be friend! Come to our village!” and I was facepalming the whole time.

Really, Otomate? Is this a game for elementary schooler? Are you going to solve everything with the power of friendship?

I don’t know if I’m too old and cynical for this, or it’s bad as it seems to me.

Probably both.

Also, that’s one thing that bothered me a lot: why everyone trusted the heroine so easily? The key for the White world should be a very precious item for every world, you shouldn’t just give it away to a stranger! But Gerda just promised to return it to the owner after the mission, and everyone believed her. Come on, writers… this is so stupid that makes me angry, I swear.

I had great expectations for Ivan’s route, but… it was actually normal?

I mean, his CGs were wonderful, I liked him as a character and it was nice to hear Ishida Akira again; but I was expecting something more!

The Snow Queen basically gave up on him for no reason: after she obtained Gerda’s fragment back, she decided to set him free for the magical power of love.

But why??

Honestly, all those “you must be so lonely” scenes we got in every route were childish and annoying.

She basically forced Ivan to go with her in the freezing White world, when he was a little boy, taking him away from his family and making him her servant; why did she randomly become nice, in the end? Because Gerda understood her loneliness? This just looks like lazy writing to me.

An epic battle would have been way more interesting!

Do I recommend this game?

It depends on your priorities: if you value more beautiful CGs than a deep plot, you will absolutely love it, because the art is amazing; but you must be very patient on the first run, the common route is really long.

If you’re looking for something more serious and you can’t stand when the power of love and friendship solves every problem, then you’d better skip this.
