Storm Lover is my favorite school themed otoge, and one of the first games I played, back in the time when I still couldn’t read japanese.

The plot is actually quite basic, but what made it really good to me were the characters: I loved them and their interactions, that’s why I didn’t even use the cheat option.

Many people complained about the stat raising system, but it wasn’t annoying to me; at least, not as other games (wof still haunts my dreams).

I’ve played Mio first, because his weirdness attracted me the most; and I wasn’t disappointed at all!

I fell in love immediately, and I had so much fun when I was dating him!

Sometimes he was difficult to understand, but at least he was an original and interesting character; his talents for drawing and taking pictures was charming too, I guess he just had an artistic personality that justified his “wft is he saying?” moments.

Yuto was… too perfect? I don’t know how else to describe him.

He’s some kind of prince-like type: he’s rich, good looking, smart and reliable.

I won’t lie, his perfection was almost irritating, he made me feel useless most of the time!

Stop being so flawless please, I’m feeling bad for the heroine who tries desperately to keep up with you! He was nice, but I didn’t like him, sorry.

Rikka was the complete opposite: he was the typical childish shota who liked to make pranks and be loud; but he acually hid a huge secret, that made his route very serious and tragic.

Well, that was unexpected in this kind of happy game.

Kyousuke was amazing, I loved every moment of his route!

I really liked his sister too, when she was making fun of him for blushing and acting all tsundere, I was laughing like crazy at his reactions.

It’s unusual for me to appreciate so much this type of character, but he was really perfect to me; I just wished for a different ending, somehow it ruined the mood… anyway, it was pure gold.

He will always be my king of tsundere!

I also liked Souya’s route.

He’s the member of a band, so I was ready to see him always flirting with girls, but he was actually very mature; I also appreciated how he had no fear to confess his feelings for the heroine to the fans, he was really straightforward.

Just get rid of that terrible goatee please!

Takumi, unfortunately, was a great disappointment.

I usually like playboys, but the way he talked was really too annoying to me… I swear, I couldn’t stand him anymore! I’m sure I would have liked him more, if he just talked like a normal person… but he didn’t, so I just played his route without paying too much attention.

I’ve played Tsukasa sensei last.

When it comes to teachers, there are two options for me: it can be very interesting, or just terribly boring.

Unfortunately, Tsukasa used immediately the “I can’t do nothing since you’re my student”card, and their interactions became really awkward and annoying.

Honestly, I don’t know why the heroine was interested in him: he’s good looking and mature, but also really boring… like, really old fashioned for everything.

If you have such interesting classmates, why going for the most plain person you have around? Unless you have a teacher/older person fetish, then I understand.

Would I recommend this game?

Yes! It’s just a school themed game, nothing more, but overall I enjoyed it a lot.

I’ll be honest, to me it was way better than Starry Sky, it felt more real and funny!

If you’re a japanese language beginner, I highly recommend to try this game, because the language is very easy and you’ll probably have no problem in understanding and also reading kanji.

Don’t be scared by the raising system, reaching every ending is very easy.

I’m sure you will fall in love with these characters!
