Since I loved Tierblade, I was really excited to play a fandisk: I hoped I could fill the gap for the lack of romance of the first game and honestly what I wanted the most from Fragments of Memory was pointless fluffy fanservice.

Were my expectations fulfilled?

Sadly, no. I won’t lie, I’m disappointed.

There are 3 sections: Eclipse, After Stories which take place after individual routes, and random flashback scenes which took place before the events of the first game.

I wanted to get rid of the fragmented scenes first, because I thought they would be the least interesting; I wasn’t wrong, but I admit they were even more boring than I expected.

And why there were so many walls of text?! Come on, this is not what I want from a fandisk!

The CGs were amazing as usual, but they felt like a waste to me.

The subcharas are nice, but they got too much time that could have been used to focus on the actual romantic aspect of Eve’s relationship with the boys.

You know I mostly play otoge for the plot, so I usually don’t mind if they lack romance, but… those scenes didn’t even have a plot, they just made me feel sleepy.

Then I started individual routes, going for my tsundere Atharva first… and it was another disappointment. The angst going on didn’t make me emotional, I just wanted it to end soon so I could see them together. But the ending scene was just cute, nothing more. Honestly, when I realized it ended like that, it was a huge let down.

Then I moved to Cradle and I admit I was excited: I was looking forward to playing a decent after story, since his route was kinda weird and short in the first game.

I started with Adult Cradle and I was really satisfied: the flashbacks were cute and the CGs were amazing; the plot was nothing original, but still fluffy enough to make it worth playing.

When I started shota Cradle’s route I wasn’t looking forward to something memorable, but when I realized it was a copy-pasta of the Adult Cradle’s one I was shocked.

Really, Otomate? Don’t you even bother to write something generic, but at least new?

I still can’t believe it, I felt trolled and I honestly think it’s embarrassing, it shows how little they cared. At this rate, including only Adult route would have made more sense.

I felt so annoyed and drained out after this route, that I decided to take a break from this game.

A long break, which lasted 4 months.

It’s something I never do, since I don’t want to end up forgetting what I was playing or dropping the game for good, but it didn’t make sense to force myself, since I clearly wasn’t enjoying it.

After being blessed with 2 amazing games (Collar Malice Unlimited and Piofiore), I decided it was time to come back and see if my opinion could improve a little.

I guess I made the right choice, or maybe I was just lucky, because I finally started to enjoy this fandisk much more.

Row’s route was my favorite without doubts, it felt like the only “otome one”.

It’s not just about the wedding, it’s just the plot overall… well, it’s the kind of content I expect from a fandisk honestly, I wish the other characters had followed a similar pattern.

If you are a huge fan like me, you won’t be disappointed!

Sud’s route was quite enjoyable too, but maybe I’m just weak to his cute blushing face or his green eyes. I loved how he did his best to protect everyone and he worked hard, but at the same time he didn’t forget to spend his little free time alone with Eve, so she wouldn’t feel lonely.

I’ve just realized I didn’t take notes about Yajur’s route, while I was playing…. I guess that means I fell asleep on that too, so it kinda explains itself.

Eclipse was the most interesting part, I’m glad I left it last since it was the best ending for the game, so I’d suggest everyone to get done the individual routes first.

Needless to say, I obviously don’t recommend Fragments of memory unless you’re an hardcore Tierblade fan; but it may disappoint you anyway, I think it’s really hard to be satisfied by this fandisk.

Boring flashbacks, annoying or useless subcharacters… but most of all, an after story with drama and angst, instead of the romance I was looking for.

I swear I’d prefer if the “true ending” of individual routes was the one in the first game, since this one doesn’t add anything interesting, probably it just ruined some of the characters for me.

I used to like them all, but now all I think is “I want this to end as soon as possible”.

Also, I don’t get why there were no choices to make.

I love seeing different endings and I always try to guess the best one to discover where it leads, but here I’m basically just reading a book. A bad written one.

All those flashbacks could have been vaguely interesting if they unlocked sequentially, but the random order made everything too confused to keep up. Do I want to read walls of text about characters I don’t even see or know? I gave up after a while and I don’t regret it.

I’ll be honest: I didn’t drop it because I love the art, it’s amazing and I wanted to look at those beautiful CGs; if even the art was mediocre, I would have stopped playing after like… 5 hours.

But I decided to suffer instead of just buying an artbook, cause you know how much of a Do-M I am…………… (I hate my life)
